The center of attention at Richardson Adventure Farm is the “World’s Largest Corn Maze” with 33 acres of tall corn and 11 miles of trails, just one hour northwest of Chicago. Don’t let the size scare you; the maze is divided into sections, so you can do the whole thing, or just a little bit. This year, the Richardson Family designed the maze to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America. Everyone enjoys the wagon rides, wooded picnic grove, campfires and five-story observation tower. Kids love the pedal carts, 50-foot tube slide, corn crib, pumpkin patch, pig races and friendly goats. Popular with big kids and grownups is a 700-foot zipline that soars over the maze, evergreens and pumpkins to a smaller remote maze, marking the 500th Anniversary of the First Decorated Christmas Tree.

New this year is a thrilling Zorbing course, where you climb inside a giant clear plastic ball and roll down an incline and across the fields! While the kids play, the adults can relax over an English Prairie ale in the farm’s new brew pub.

Open August 7-October 31: Wednesday-Thursday 3-10pm, Friday 3-11pm, Saturday 10am-11pm, Sunday noon-11pm, Labor Day and Columbus Day 10am-10pm. Maze til Midnight on full-moon weekends. Concessions and wagon rides on weekends. Flashlights and glowsticks available. Admission: $12.95 ages 13 and up; $9.95 ages 4-12; 3 and under free. Zorbing and zipping extra. Group rates. See the website for all the details!
