No carving, no problem! Create something truly special with your family this Halloween.

Using Tempera paints and your imagination, turn a plain ol’ pumpkin into a ghost, spider or silly face scarecrow. Go free-style and design a unique artistic masterpiece to enhance your fall décor. Each participant will receive a pie pumpkin to decorate. No experience necessary. Everyone is welcome to visit all of the farm animals, too.

Ages 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Activity will be held rain or shine in our barn; it is not climate controlled so please dress for the weather. Non-painters do not need to register.

Downer’s Grove Park District’s Harvest Fest Saturday September 28th

Celebrate fall with a day of fun for the entire family at the Downers Grove Park District Annual Harvest Fest!

This free event will include live entertainment, hands-on activities, food and beverages. ARRA, Chicagoland’s premiere classic rock cover band, will headline the live entertainment from 5 to 7 pm. Suburban Cowboys, the ultimate country cover band, will hit the stage from 1 to 3 pm. DJ Coach Josh will spin tunes and get the crowd dancing from 12 to 1 pm and 4:30 to 5 pm. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets to make themselves comfortable during the performances.

Glowby the Bubbler will entertain kiddos with a one-of-a-kind, outdoor bubble performance from 3:30 to 4:30 pm. Kids of all ages will find hands-on activities in the Children’s Area from 12 to 5 pm including free face painting and airbrushing, carnival games with prizes and a bounce house.

New this year is a Pumpkin Decorating Contest available for all ages. Pie pumpkins will be sold for $2 each while supplies last. Bring your own décor and pumpkin flair or use our provided supplies to decorate your very own pumpkin to enter in the Pumpkin Decorating Contest. Decorating will take place from 12 to 4 pm. The contest will feature five award categories by age group (ages 1 to 4, 5 to 8, 9 to 12, 13 to 17 and 18+) and winners will be announced and awarded prizes at 4:45 pm.

Local food vendors will serve up a bounty of good eats and fall-themed adult beverages will be available for purchase.

Kuipers Family Farm and Apple Orchard

The Harvest at Kuipers Family Farm begins mid-August with apple picking in the orchard on Saturdays and Sundays. Open each day is the Orchard Shop & Bakery where you can shop our many specialty food and gift items, stock up on apple cider doughnuts, pies, fudge, caramel apples & freshly pressed apple cider. Buy a ticket to ride the Farmview Railway train!

Online ticket purchases are recommended.  Reservations and online ticket purchases are required for peek weekends and Columbus Day during the period October 3rd thru 25th 2020.

Hayride Fun For All! St. Charles Park District Primrose Farm Autumn Hayrides.

October calendars can quickly fill up with autumn festivals, costume parties and pumpkin carving, so why not slow down to enjoy the beauty of the season with an old-fashioned hayride and bonfire at Primrose Farm in St. Charles?

Moonlight hayrides are offered on Fridays and Saturdays at 5:30pm, 6:30pm and 7:30pm beginning September 30 through October 22.
The ride is Family Friendly without haunted decorations and effects, which is what draws many people to this annual event.
